As we enter the new year I’m so excited to see what 2018 brings. Sometimes I go through the entire year feeling as if nothing in my life has changed, but when I sit down and reflect, I realize how different things really are. I could write for hours about all the good and bad things that happened this past year, but let’s be real who really cares?! My plan for 2018 is to take The Manhattan Mini to the next level! I’m going to try my absolute best to add a new blog post each week, as well as post on Instagram more often! I’ll also be adding a “Shop my Wish list” section to my blog where you can shop all of my “MUST HAVES.” Therefore make sure you’re on the look out for that.
I’d like to thank all of those who regularly check into my blog, and comment. I love to hear your feedback, and if you’d every like to see something specific on The Manhattan Mini, please feel free to email me, comment on a post, or message me on Instagram!
Now, to start 2018 I’m sharing with you one of my new found loves, BLAZERS. A good blazer should be a staple in every girl’s wardrobe. A blazer is so much more than an item of clothing that can be worn in a professional setting. Considering I’m still in college I rarely have a reason to dress in “business attire;” therefore I’ve learned how to style the blazer into my everyday outfits.
Keep scrolling to see how I styled my plaid blazer from Missguided… and to get some styling tips!
Just in case you aren’t the best at putting together outfits, and you need some help dressing down your blazer. I’ve put together 5 different ways you can dress down a blazer, with pieces you can probably find in your closet, enjoy!
1.Pair your blazer with a graphic-tee and a pair of your favorite sneakers.
2. Similar to the outfit I’m wearing in this post, pair your plaid blazer with a lace cami and your favorite pair of heels.
3. A cute pair of booties, a bodysuit and an oversized blazer.
4. Knee high boots, a plain colored top, your favorite belt, and an oversized scarf.
5. Boyfriend jeans, a classic white tee, and a pair of vans.

Thank you Michele! I adore this “cabby hat” everyone calls it a train conductor hat, but when styled the right way it looks so cute on!

Amanda, you are expert in choosing your plaids. This blazer in plaid is no exception. Love it! By the way, I like to think of it as a “Choo, Choo, Charlie” cap. What do you think? My personal pairing was the shorter black blazer, the solid black top, and the white scarf. Great post!

Thank you! I’m glad you love this post! Whenever I wear this hat someone always refers to it as the “train conductor cap.” I would have to agree, it definitely does look like one; but I just adore the shape of the hat and the way it compliments my outfits!
